Ngaire Waine
Liverpool South
Area Commander: Temporary Chief Superintendent Ngaire Waine
I'm Ngaire Waine, the Area Commander for Liverpool South. I'm
responsible for day to day policing in the area and I'm committed
to making your community a safer place to live, work or visit.
Information about Liverpool South
The Liverpool South area is divided into six neighbourhoods,
each with its own policing team led by an Inspector. These
neighbourhoods are:
- Riverside, St Michaels & Greenbank
- Princes, Picton & Wavertree
- Childwall, Church & Mossley Hill
- Belle Vale, Woolton, Allerton & Hunts Cross
- Cressington, Garston & Speke
- Liverpool John Lennon Airport
Liverpool South is a fascinating part of Liverpool. It has a
population of around 200,000 people with many diverse communities.
Whilst predominantly a residential area, it does have many
restaurants, shops, pubs, golf clubs and a cinema. It also includes
many of the oldest parts of Liverpool with tourist sites such as
Speke Hall, the childhood addresses of the Beatles and the oldest
Churches and chapels in Merseyside.
Area priorities
I've set the 2012 policing priorities for the area by working
with local partners and more importantly, by listening to your
concerns. These are:
- Reduce anti-social behaviour
- Reduce the number of burglaries
- Reduce the amount of incidents of serious violence
- Reduce the criminal use of firearms
I am committed to ensuring that we continue to deliver
outstanding neighbourhood policing that is accountable to the
diverse communities of Liverpool South. Supported by excellent
response policing and a high quality investigative function, our
team, together with our many partners, will endeavour to address
anti-social behaviour, violence and acquisitive crime, to make our
local communities feel safe and confident both in policing services
and in living and working in Liverpool South.
