Freedom of Information

Freedom of Information provides a general right of access to information held by any public authority, including the police.

On these pages you can find out more about the Act itself, how to make a request, and where to find information we already publish.

You will find more information on what members of the public may expect from the Police Service under the Freedom of Information Act, and an explanation of all aspects of implementing the Act, including a review of the key exemptions by reading this document.

You will also find a list of Fees and Charges payable to Merseyside Police for various services including the issue of certificates, road traffic collision charges and the provision of policing services at commercial and some other events.
