Fixed Penalty Notices
There are two types of fixed penalty tickets issued for road traffic offences, endorsable and non-endorsable.
- Endorsable tickets mean that you will get 3 points on your licence and a £60 fine.
- A non-endorsable ticket means that you will usually receive a £30 fine, but for certain offences that could rise to £60.00, but you do not get any points on your licence.
It depends what offence has been committed as to which type of fixed penalty ticket you will receive.
Endorsable tickets are usually given out for offences such as speeding, going through a red light, no insurance and using a hand held mobile phone while driving. Non-endorsable tickets are given out for minor road traffic matters such as unnecessary obstruction, parking where prohibited, contravening a bus or cycle lane, no MOT, no seat belt or registration plate offences.
