Confrontational burglary - Tarbock Green

Police Officers making house to house calls

Merseyside Police is investigating following a confrontational burglary at a house in Tarbock Green on Tuesday night (10 November).

Officers were called to a house at around 10.45pm following reports of a burglary.

Three men with their faces covered had forced entry into the house and stolen a quantity of jewellery from an upstairs bedroom. Including some items of sentimental value such as a platinum ring, with a ruby set in diamond, bought for a recent wedding anniversary and for a significant recent birthday.

The occupants, a man and woman in their 60s, were in at the time of the incident and have been left extremely shaken, but thankfully uninjured.

Detective Inspector Tom Keaton said: "This was a particularly nasty incident and although the occupants weren't injured they have, understandably, been left very shaken.

"We are following up a number of positive leads but we always need the public's help. If anyone knows anyone about this investigation, I would urge you to make contact with us."

Anyone with information about this incident or any person or shop who has been offered an item of jewellery similar to that described is asked to call 0151 777 6565 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
