Police Community Support & Traffic Officers

Merseyside Police Community Support & Traffic Officers (PCS&TOs) are the eyes and ears of your area, reporting back to both police and partner agencies on the concerns of your community.

  • Providing a visible and accessible presence they actively contribute to providing reassurance to all members of the community.

  • PCS&TOs do not replace regular police officers, but are an additional uniformed presence within communities.

  • PCS&TOs are not police officers so their uniforms are different.

    They have blue ties and blue epaulettes and wear distinctive headwear PCS&TOs work from police stations and are managed by police supervisory officers.

  • PCS&TOs help tackle anti-social behaviour, graffiti and environmental issues.

  • They work within a targeted patrol area to provide a visible and accessible uniformed presence, aiming to make the community a happier and more comfortable place to live.
