Merseyside Police currently employ over 2,500 police staff in a wide variety of different job roles. Our police staff employees provide an invaluable function, supporting front line officers and ensuring the effectiveness of the Force.
We have a wide variety of roles to offer all types of people - Emergency Call Handlers, Crime Scene Investigators, Clerical Officers, Enquiry Counter Officers, Police Community Support Officers, IT, HR and Finance staff, Cleaners and lots more. There are no formal educational requirement for the majority of police staff posts, however, you may have to pass assessment tests designed to assess the skills and abilities required for the post you are applying for. There are educational requirements for specialist or senior posts and these will be detailed in the job advert and the person specification.
