If you are interested in a career with Merseyside Police and feel that you fall into an under represented group, (Minority race, faith/belief, Gay Lesbian Bisexual or Transgender or if you have a disability) contact José or Barry.
We can provide you with careers advice on the many different job opportunities available. Its not just about police officers, we have hundreds of different careers. We can assist you with the application process and help you develop your interview skills so that you can show your full potential at a selection process. We will help you to maximise your chances of gaining the career of your choice.
Positive action is not a legal requirement but refers to a range of measures and development initiatives that employers can lawfully take to help people from under represented groups to compete for jobs on equal terms with other applicants. It is designed to counteract the effects of historical discrimination and to abolish stereotyping. Some people may think that they would not "fit in" at Merseyside Police or that they would not be welcome. This may be because of their lifestyle or background. Previous experiences of the organisation may influence them. We aim to remove these myths and show people how the organisation has changed. We particularly welcome applications from people from minority groups, recognising that they have much to bring to our organisation.
The team work within the community and are committed to ensuring that people see the force as an employer of choice and one that embraces diversity. We attend a wide variety of events, running recruitment stands, offering careers advice and promoting the force through educational and social activities.
We advise on careers such as Police Officers, Community Support Officers and a wide variety of administrative and support roles. The force can offer career opportunities in areas such as:
Clerical and Administration, Finance, IT, Communications and Marketing, Training and Personnel, Data management and analysis, Call Centres and Control Room, Vehicle Fleet Management, Stable and Kennels Management and many others.
We can work together to get people into the careers they want.
