Support for victims & witnesses
Victims and Witnesses are fundamental to criminal justice. Without them, offenders will not be brought to justice and neither victims nor society will receive justice.
Merseyside Police is fully committed to the support of victims of crime. It is an endorsement of our quality of service that all officers are fully aware of, and sensitive to, the needs of the victim.
Being a victim of crime can be very traumatic and arouse feelings or anxieties, which can be difficult to cope with. Many victims find they need some form of immediate emotional support, reassurance and, in some cases, practical advice.
