Information Appeal - Serious Assault, Old Swan
Merseyside Police is appealing for information following an
incident in Old Swan last week (Thursday 28 June) in which a man
was stabbed.
Officers were called to an address in Davidson Road at around
7.00pm following reports that a 28 year old man had been seriously
assaulted.
It is believed he was attacked by two males while he was walking
home. The two men fled the scene in a car.
He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a
serious injury to his face and superficial stab wounds to his
buttocks and shoulder.
The scene was sealed for forensic examination, house-to-house
enquiries were undertaken and officers are reviewing CCTV from the
area.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Rhodes said: "This was clearly a very
nasty attack in which a man has been left badly hurt and very
shaken. He was unable to identify his attackers other than to
describe that one of them was wearing a black silky-type sports
jacket with blue horizontal stripes.
"I appeal to those who may have seen a man wearing a jacket of
this description around the time of the attack to contact us.
"While we are currently keeping an open mind about the motive
behind the assault I would like to take this opportunity to
reassure residents that this is an isolated incident and we are
determined to find those responsible."
Anyone with information about this incident is asked
to contact Merseyside Police on 0151 777 4065 or Crimestoppers,
anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
