Serious Assault - Crosby
Merseyside Police is appealing for information following an
assault in Crosby yesterday (Sunday, 15 July) that has left a
youth with serious head injuries.
Officers were called at 3.45am to a report of an
assault taking place on Coronation Road. On arrival officers found
a 16-year-old male with serious head injuries.
Paramedics took the male to hospital by ambulance. His
condition is described as critical.
The scene was cordoned off for examination, a search
of the area was conducted and house-to-house enquiries have been
undertaken.
Detective Inspector David Keegan, said: "A youth has
been left in a serious condition and we urge anyone who saw what
happened to get in touch with us.
"The victim had been riding a distinctive new Reebok
bicycle prior to being found. It would appear that during the
assault this bike was taken. Anyone who may has seen, found or even
been offered this bike is urged to contact me. I would also ask
that anyone in the Crosby or Waterloo areas that may have seen a
bike being ridden or pushed around this time to contact me as they
may have information vital to this investigation.
"I am also keen to speak to two males that were seen
in the Coronation Road area around the time of the incident as they
may be able to assist the police with their enquiries. The men are
described as being aged in their mid-twenties and were dressed
casually.
"We are treating this extremely seriously and urge
people to help us bring those responsible to justice."
An investigation into the full circumstances of the
incident is ongoing.
