area of Orrell Road.
It is believed that four men entered the car park by the

to have been a handgun.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries

Superintendent Paul White said: "This was an extremely reckless
act that could have had tragic consequences.
"Firing a weapon so close to a park during the daytime when it
is the school holidays is absolutely despicable and we urge the
community to tell us who was responsible so we can take robust
action against them.
"These people have no regard for the safety of themselves or
others and must be stopped. We will do everything within our powers
to take these criminals and their weapons off our streets but we
need the help of the community to do this.
"We will act on all information we receive and urge people to
call us, anonymously if preferred."
