CCTV Appeal: Street Robbery - Holmfield Road, Aigburth
Detectives have released CCTV of a man they want to speak to
about a robbery in Aigburth on Monday morning.
A local business employee was dropping off the weekend's takings
at the Post Office close to the Tesco store on Holmefield Road, off
Aigburth Hall Avenue, when he was approached as he got out of his
car
A man is believed to have run towards the victim threatening to
hurt him if he did not hand over the cash. A brief struggle has
then taken place before the offender ran off with a large amount of
money across Holmefield Road and down South Mossley Hill Road.
The victim was left shaken and not badly hurt,. He suffered very
minor scratches during the struggle.
He is described as a white man, aged between 18 and 25, around
6ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper
with the hood up and spoke with a Liverpool accent.
Detective Constable Sarah Clayton from Admiral Street CID, said:
"This was a frightening experience for the victim. Robberies are
rare in this area and I am hoping someone will have witnessed some
unusual or suspicious activity on this particular morning and who
may be able to help our investigation.
"I would particularly like to hear from anyone who recognises
the person in this CCTV image or who saw someone like this in the
area on Monday morning. Information like that, however small, could
help us trace the person responsible."
