Wednesday Update - Merseyside Crackdown On Scrambler Bikes Involved In Crime And Anti-Social Behaviour
During the third day of a forcewide crackdown on the illegal use
of scrambler bikes, Merseyside Police has executed seven warrants,
seized two bikes and arrested nine people for a variety of
offences.
Those arrested today are:
A 21-year-old man from Childwall has been arrested on suspicion
of burglary. He has been questioned by officers and has released on
bail pending further enquiries.
A 43-year-old man from Norris Green has been arrested on
suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.
A 44-year-old man from Norris Green has been arrested on
suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.
An 18-year-old man, Michael Anthony McGinley, has been arrested
and charged with driving other than in accordance with a
licence.
A 30-year-old man from Kirkby has been arrested on suspicion of
theft, handling stolen goods and possession of a controlled
drug.
A 20-year-old man from Netherton has been arrested for
obstructing a drug search in Netherton
A 35-year-old man from Seaforth has been arrested for dangerous
driving in Seaforth
A 30-year-old woman, Kelly Murray, of Sandy Road, Seaforth has
been arrested and charged with obstructing the police
A 17-year-man from Huyton has been arrested and charged with a
number of driving offences, including driving without insurance and
a licence and without due care and attention.
A 20-year-old man from Netherton has been arrested on suspicion
of an arson on Londsdale Road, Netherton on 12 October
The following people were arrested on Monday, 15 October and
have now been charged. They are:
A 17-year-old from Bootle has been charged with possession of a
Class B drug
Joseph McKeever, 21 years, of Howard Florey Way, Bootle has been
charged with breach of crown court bail
Anthony Chadwick, 28 years of The Marian Way, Bootle has been
charged with possession of a Class B Drug
Terrance Stewart, 21 of Fleetwood Cottages, Bootle has been
charged with possession of a controlled drug (Class A and Class B).
He is due to appear at Sefton Magistrates' Court on 2 November.
Officers in Knowsley, Sefton and St Helens have also issued four
Section 59 warnings, relating to the anti-social use of vehicles,
(one in Knowsley, one in Sefton and two in St Helens). Three fixed
penalty notices were also issued in Knowsley, one for using a
mobile phone whilst driving, one for failing to stop at a red
traffic light and one for not wearing a seat belt. Four fixed
penalty notices were issued in Wirral for road traffic
offences.
