A Misconduct hearing will be held at Merseyside Police headquarters on Monday 18 November 2024 and is scheduled to last three days.
Sergeant Steven Smith will face the following allegations at the level of gross misconduct:
Honesty and Integrity
In that the officer dishonesty stated that he was doing a test (undercover operation) in order to recover cocaine, that had been seized by door staff.
Discreditable Conduct
In that the officer inappropriately identified himself as a police officer in order to recover cocaine that had been seized by door staff, such conduct had brought the police service into disrepute.
