A gross misconduct hearing was held at Merseyside Police Eaton Road Police Station, Liverpool on 26 May 2021. The hearing lasted for three days.
Former Constable 1867 Paul Ledwith was found to have breached the following standards of professional behaviour:
Had the officer still been serving he would have been dismissed without notice and he has been placed on the College of Policing barred list.
At the conclusion of the hearing the Legally Qualified Chair (LQC) of the panel Mr Ince determined that the publication of the outcome was not to be published until the conclusion of Former Constable Ledwith’s associated criminal trial, so as to not prejudice matters. The criminal trial has now concluded.
