An accelerated misconduct hearing was held at Merseyside Police headquarters on Wednesday 15 January 2025.
Former Constable Hornby was found to have breached the following standards of professional behaviour, at the level of Gross Misconduct:
The allegations related to a period in 2019 when the officer has shared inappropriate videos and messages with a colleague, which were offences and demonstrated a lack of tolerance towards others with protected characteristics.
The officer was dismissed without notice and has now been placed on the College of Policing Barred List.
