Local Policing Superintendent Paul White

Paul White (2) Hi, I’m Paul White, your local policing superintendent. I joined Merseyside Police in 1993 aged 23 and my first role was as a response officer based at Marsh Lane, so being in Sefton is home from home!

I’ve also worked in south Liverpool as a sergeant and later north Liverpool as an inspector and then chief inspector, as well at the Matrix department as a superintendent.

I enjoy policing large public events such as the Aintree festival, the Three Queens, the derby and political party conferences and one of the largest was the NATO summit at Celtic Manor in Wales.

I believe that we can make real in-roads into the issues of gun and gang crime in Sefton by continuing to work closely with partner agencies so as to pool resources, share expertise and engage better with the communities we serve. I am also passionate about protecting the most vulnerable people in society by intervening early to prevent low-level offending escalating and more harm being caused.

Local Policing Chief Inspector Jerry Harris

Jerry Harris

Hi. I’m Jerry Harris, your local policing chief inspector in Sefton. I was brought up in south Liverpool and joined the army after leaving school, serving all over the world, including the Far East, India, Scandinavia, Europe and Canada.

In 1980 I joined Merseyside Police and in that time I have been both a uniformed officer and a detective, which has taken me all around the UK, Europe and South America investigating organised crime groups from Merseyside.

I have been a chief inspector in Sefton since 2013 and I am now based at Marsh Lane police station where we have a great team of community police officers and PCSTOs who, I am proud to say, do a fantastic job out on the streets keeping people safe.

I am passionate about local policing and enjoy working with our partners across the public sector and the other emergency services to tackle the challenges facing us in our bid to make Sefton a safe and pleasant place to live, work and visit.

Our policing teams in Sefton understand the importance of what they do and how they engage with you, the public, so please explore the Local Policing pages and get to know your community policing teams and how you can get in touch if you need to.
