Local Policing Superintendent Matt Boyle
I’m Matt Boyle, your Local Policing Area Commander. I have been a Police Officer since 1998 and more recently have served in the Force Operations Department, Knowsley and Liverpool areas at Chief Inspector rank, with a 12 month period as Temporary Superintendent in the latter.
I previously served in Sefton between 2008-2010, so am glad to have returned to this area.
I enjoy Public Order and Public Safety Command and have been involved in many large events across Merseyside from the visit of the Giants, domestic and European Football fixtures and more recently the Liverpool International Music Festival.
I have built up an experience of tackling those issues that matter the most to our communities, and put them at the heart of everything that I do from the most serious of crime to safeguarding those who are vulnerable. I am a strong advocate of the Local Policing model and see partnership problem solving as the best tool for reducing Crime & ASB in communities.
I will lead your Community & Targeted policing teams to deliver an effective and efficient service I will ensure that officers put communities first in everything they do.
Local Policing Chief Inspector Jerry Harris
Hi. I’m Jerry Harris, your local policing chief inspector in Sefton. I was brought up in south Liverpool and joined the army after leaving school, serving all over the world, including the Far East, India, Scandinavia, Europe and Canada.
In 1980 I joined Merseyside Police and in that time I have been both a uniformed officer and a detective, which has taken me all around the UK, Europe and South America investigating organised crime groups from Merseyside.
I have been a chief inspector in Sefton since 2013 and I am now based at Marsh Lane police station where we have a great team of community police officers and PCSTOs who, I am proud to say, do a fantastic job out on the streets keeping people safe.
I am passionate about local policing and enjoy working with our partners across the public sector and the other emergency services to tackle the challenges facing us in our bid to make Sefton a safe and pleasant place to live, work and visit.
