Merseyside Police detectives appeal for information after theft of tipper truck from building site in Haydock
Merseyside Police detectives are appealing for information after the high-value theft of a tipper truck from a building site in Haydock in October.
At around 7.45pm on Tuesday 3rd October, two men are believed to have driven to a building site in New Boston Trading Estate, Wilcock’s Lane in a white Ford Transit van, scaled a fence and loaded a Terex tipper truck. The van and truck were then driven by a third man in the direction of Haydock racecourse.
Extensive enquiries have been carried out and detectives now want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious.
Detective Inspector Jason Pye said: “This was a brazen theft which has deprived a construction site of valuable equipment. We believe that motorists, walkers and cyclists may have been passing at the time of the offence and it is vital that we speak to anyone who remembers seeing this theft taking place, and who can describe the three men involved.
“You may have been passing in a car or on a bike with dashcam or bike helmet cameras, and you may hold evidence to help us bring those responsible to justice. Any information provided will be acted on.”
Anyone with information is urged to call (0151) 7776967 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Information can also be provided via their online form: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/give-information/give-information-online.
