Merseyside Police appeal for information after serious injury road traffic collision on East Lancs road

Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses after a serious injury road traffic on the East Lancashire Road in Croxteth last night, Thursday 8 February.

At around 7.20pm, a silver Vauxhall Astra travelling towards Kirkby was involved in a collision with a pedestrian, a 14-year-old boy, at the traffic lights on the junction with Portal Way, close to the Home Bargains depot.

The boy suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to Alder Hey children’s hospital where he is currently described as in a stable condition.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra is assisting officers with their investigation.

Sergeant Keenan from Merseyside Police’s Roads Policing Unit said: “We would be interested in speaking to anyone who was travelling on that stretch of the East Lancashire Road around 7.20pm and who may have captured the incident or the lead up to it on their vehicle’s dash cam.”
