Third Section 60 order authorised this week in Toxteth

A Section 60 order has been authorised for the Toxteth area after three men were injured on Saturday night (4 April 2020).
Three people were arrested after one man was stabbed on Carter Street, a second was shot on Gwent Street and a third was shot on Hatherley Close. The incidents happened between around 9.55pm and 10.15pm, and enquiries are ongoing.
The Order - the third of its kind in the area since the incidents - the Order gives officers enhanced stop and search powers in a specified geographic location for a set period of time. Officers are authorised to search any males aged between 14-50 years in the location shown on the map.
The area covered is bounded by Upper Parliament Street, Smithdown Road, Hartington Road, Croxteth Road, Devonshire Road, Admiral Street and back up to Upper Parliament Street.
Anyone with information on the incidents is urged to come forward and speak to us, either directly or via @MerPolCC, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. We will act on all information to rmeove those who cause harm from your streets.
