Detectives investigating an assault in Bebington yesterday (Tuesday 7 April) have charged a man with attempted murder.
63-year-old Charles Fleming of Kingswood Boulevard in Higher Bebington was charged with attempted murder and will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning, Wednesday 8 April.

ORIGINAL RELEASE (TUESDAY 7 APRIL)
We were called at 9.55 am today, Tuesday 7 April, following reports a man had been assaulted on the Wirral.
Officers were called to a house on Kings Lane in Bebington following reports a man had suffered laceration wounds to his face. It is believed the man, who is in his 60s, was assaulted at a property in nearby Kingswood Boulevard
The man has been taken to hospital for treatment for his wounds which are not believed to be life threatening.
An investigation is underway and house-to-house and CCTV enquiries are being carried out in the local area.
A man from the Bebington area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and will be taken into custody for questioning by detectives.
