UPDATE: Following a collision on Great Homer Street, Liverpool earlier today (Thursday, 13 August), officers are continuing to appeal for information.
Two police officers who were taken to hospital have since been discharged. A third police officer and prisoner who were also in the carrier received minor injuries. The occupants of the Range Rover, three women and a child were uninjured.
At this time the road remains closed.
Officers from the Matrix Roads Policing team are appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision or who has any dash cam footage to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting reference 335 of 13.08.20.
ORIGINAL: Merseyside Police officers are in attendance on Great Homer Street, Liverpool following a collision involving a police carrier this morning. (Thursday, 13 August).
A t around 10.10am, police carrier was in collision with a Range Rover at the junction of Great Homer Street and Wilbraham Street. Three police officers have been taken to hospital where at this early stage their condition is unknown. A prisoner travelling in the police carrier is believed to have suffering minor injuries and the occupants of the Range Rover continue to be treated at the scene, they are thought to have suffered minor injuries.
The road has been cordoned off while enquiries are carried out and drivers are urged to avoid the area.
