We can confirm that a man has been charged after an incident in Kensington on 5 December.
Police were called to a shop on Kensington at around 9.25pm on 5 December where it was reported there had been fighting and that a man had entered the shop making threats while holding a knife.
Jason Franey, 31, of Sutcliffe Street, Kensington was arrested and later charged in relation to the incident.
He was charged with aggravated burglary, blackmail, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a knife/blade in a public place, threatening to damage property and intimidating a witness.
He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday (11 December) and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on 8 January.
