We are currently in Bebington following a collision this morning, Wednesday, 8 January.
At around 11.15am, a police car was in collision with a pedestrian on Spital Road.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance attended and the pedestrian, a male in his 80’s, was air-lifted to hospital in a serious condition.
The police vehicle stopped at the scene.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) who will be carrying out an independent investigation.
Road closures are currently in place on Spital Road from the junction of Church Road to the junction of St Andrews Road and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
