UPDATE
The incident in Westminster Road in Kirkdale has now been stood down as a firearms incident.
It is believed a male exited the premises prior to the arrival of police officers. At this time there have been no arrests and enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
There have been no reports of anyone being injured and all roads have now reopened.
We would like to thank members of the public for their patience while the matter was dealt with.

We can confirm that armed officers are in the Kirkdale area dealing with an incident this morning, Monday 13 January.
At around 10am, officers attended Westminster Road following information of a man allegedly in possession of a weapon and making threats. A negotiator is on the scene.
The road has been closed while we deal with the incident at Leven Street; Bradewell Street; Tawd Street and Barlow Lane and we would ask people to avoid the area.
