UPDATE: A second Section 60 order has been authorised for the #Toxteth area for this evening.
The Order will begin at 6pm today (Sunday, 21 June) and will conclude at 4am tomorrow (Monday, 22 June).
During yesterday’s Section 60, we stop searched 56 people, six of whom were found in possession of drugs.
The Order is specifically designed to minimise serious violence in the area and gives officers enhanced stop and search powers in a specified geographic location for a set period of time (as seen on the map).

The Order will begin at 3pm today (Saturday, 20 June) and will conclude at 4am tomorrow (Sunday, 21 June).
The Order comes in response to recent incidents and tensions and is specifically designed to minimise serious violence in the area. The Order also gives officers enhanced stop and search powers in a specified geographic location for a set period of time.
Anyone with information on the crime in the area is urged to come forward and speak to us, either directly or via @MerPolCC, 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. We will act on all information to remove those who cause harm from your streets.
