We are appealing for information after a man was seriously injured after being assaulted in Everton last night (Saturday, 21 March).
We received reports that a man was unconscious in the street after being assaulted on Shaw Street at the junction with Langdale Street just before 8.30pm.
When officers arrived the 22-year-old victim had regained consciousness but had suffered serious injuries and he was taken to hospital, where he is being treated for serious head injuries. His condition is described as critical but stable.
The offender is described as offender is described as a black male, 6ft tall with an athletic build.
Crime Scene Investigators have carried out forensic examinations at the scene and house-to-house inquiries are being carried out. Officers will also be checking CCTV footage in the area in a bid to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the offender.
Officers believe there were a number of people who witnessed the incident on Shaw Street and they are appealing for them, or anyone who has any information which could help them with their inquiries to find the offender to come forward.
