Officers have arrested a 28 year old man from Liscard for a number of offences after he was spotted acting suspiciously yesterday evening (10th March).
The man was seen waiting at a bus stop on New Chester Road, New Ferry just before 6:30pm.
As officers approached him, he tried to run away and after a short chase, was detained on Poolbank Road, Port Sunlight. He was found in possession of a knife and an emergency glass hammer. He was consequently arrested with possession of an offensive weapon and going equip for theft.
After further checks, it later transpired that he was also wanted for a 11 other offences including possession of a controlled drug, burglary, robbery and theft.
He remains in custody at this time.
