We can confirm a woman has sadly died following a road traffic collision yesterday, Sunday, 20 September.
At 6.40pm, it was reported a Nissan Juke had been in collision with a tree on Aigburth Road.
Emergency services attended and the four occupants of the vehicle were taken to hospital.
One occupant, a 75-year-old woman, was sadly pronounced dead.
A second man, aged 71, remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A 68-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman remain in hospital in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward by contacting @MerPolCC, 101 quoting ref. 854 of 20/9/20 or the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5747.
