Two men have been arrested following an incident in Clifton Road, Birkenhead in the early hours of this morning, Friday, 4 September.
Officers were called at around 1am to reports a man had been injured following an assault. On arrival officers found a 24-year-old man with cuts to his hand and an injury to his head. He was treated at hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.
The men aged 19 and 20, both from Birkenhead have been arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to a police station on Merseyside where they will be questioned.
Detectives are working to piece together the full circumstances of the incident and are examining CCTV from the area and conducting house to house enquiries. The scene has also been cordoned off for forensic examination.
