We are appealing for information as part of our investigation into damage caused to the Real Madrid team bus on Wednesday (14 April).
A number of items were thrown at the bus as it approached Anfield Stadium ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League match with Real Madrid.
A window of the bus was damaged and enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.
Officers investigating the incident are urging anyone who may have captured mobile phone video footage of the incident to get in touch.
Detective Sergeant George Easterbrook said: “The scenes on Wednesday evening were totally unacceptable, putting the safety of the players and the public at risk and will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
“We are doing all we can to identify those responsible for damaging the Real Madrid team bus, reviewing CCTV footage from the area, along with our own body worn camera footage.
“We know that many people will have captured footage of this incident on their mobile phones. I would urge anyone who has footage to please come forward and share this with us as something you have captured, however small, may prove vital to our investigation.
“You can share any footage directly with us via social media or through Crimestoppers, anonymously. However you choose to get information to us, rest assured, we will use it and take action accordingly.”
