Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a knifepoint robbery of this scooter (pictured) in Halewood last night, Monday 26 April.
At around 8.45pm, a 16-year-old boy was riding his friend's scooter on the loop line, just off Abberley Road, when four males approached.
One of the suspects demanded that the victim got off his scooter, and produced a kitchen knife. A second suspect was in possession of a flick knife. The victim was punched to the face and the scooter was taken. This scooter is pictured.
Enquiries are ongoing, including CCTV, witness and forensics.
The first suspect was described as slim, around 5ft 10in tall, wearing a black balaclava, black clothing and gloves. The second suspect was described as mixed race, 5ft 5in tall, wearing a mask and gloves. No descriptions have been provided for the third and fourth males.
Detective Inspector Jackie Guinness said: "This was an appalling incident which left the boy and his friend extremely frightened. We're doing all we can to identify those responsible, but your help could be vital.
"If you were in the area of the loop line, close to Adderley Road, around 8.45pm last night, we want to hear from you. Likewise, if you have seen this scooter since, or a group of youths gathering in the area, let us know.
"Your CCTV, dashcam, descriptions or other information may the key to our investigation. Carrying and threatening people with knives can have catastrophic consequence, and we will continue to use all our available powers to stop and search those we suspect are in possession of any weapons which can cause fear and harm.
"This incident has happened during Op Sceptre, week-long national campaign to deter those involved in knife crime. We're carrying out a variety of policing activity including open land searches, stop searches, high visibility and plain clothed patrols, weapon sweeps as well as working with our partners, local schools, youth clubs and retailers.
“This partnership work is vital in making a long-term difference across Merseyside, and remains our priority all year round. With determination from us and support from the public, I have no doubt that we can positively impact our communities and make changes to ensure the safety of all those living in and visiting Merseyside.”
