Detectives from our Firearms Investigation Team have charged a man and a woman following the recovery of two firearms and ammunition in Belle Vale yesterday, Thursday 22 April.
Officers carried out a warrant at an address on Lee Park Avenue following reports a firearm was being stored.
Officers seized a handgun from within the property and a revolver which was found buried in a communal the garden near to the address. A man and woman were arrested and taken to custody.
27-year-old Nathan Kelly of no fixed abode and 25-year-old Zara Mohammed of Lee Park Avenue have now been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
Both appeared at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning, Friday 23 April. Kelly has been remanded in custody and Mohammed released on conditional bail.
