We have arrested a man on suspicion of firearms and drugs offences following an incident in Huyton last night, Thursday 29 April.
At around 8.40pm, a suspected wanted man was sighted in Lyme Grove and detained by armed police.
The 26-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to transfer firearms; conspiracy to possess ammunition; conspiracy to supply cocaine, heroin and cannabis; conspiracy to commit Section 18 assault; and Acquire / Use / Possess Criminal Property / Money Laundering.
He has been taken to a police station for questioning.
Detective Inspector Chris Lowe said: “This was a smart piece of police work which has resulted in a man being arrested on suspicion of extremely serious offences, for which he will now be questioned.
“If you have any information about the suspected storage, possession or use of firearms, drugs or other weapons, come forward and we will take action.”
