Detectives are issuing CCTV images of men who may have information to assist a robbery investigation in Fairfield earlier this month.
At around 9.30am on Sunday 8 August, three men entered Adams Newsagents on Prescot Road, while one waited outside.
Two of the men were reported to have assaulted a male member of staff and forced him to open the till.
Approximately £500 in cash was reported stolen by the three males, while one was reported to have also taken a quantity of cigarettes.
The males were reported to have made off on foot along Onslow Road.
The victim suffered minor injuries and was left extremely distressed.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Nick Suffield said: “Robberies on businesses are far from victimless crimes and have a devastating impact on our communities. We will do all we can to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“We’re keen to speak to anyone who recognises these men, as they may hold vital information to assist our enquiries.
“For someone to be assaulted while carrying out their business in the community is utterly despicable. We’re determined to find those responsible and put them before the courts. Come forward directly or anonymously and we will do the rest.”
