We are appealing for information following a cash box robbery in Old Swan yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 25 August.
At around 3pm, officers were called to TSB in Prescot Road to reports that a security guard had been threatened by a man with a knife, who stole a cash box and got into a white van, which was driven off in the direction of Queens Drive.
A van suspected of being the vehicle involved was found burnt out a short time later on Snowberry Road.
The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, and wearing a black cap and face covering.
CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Ben Dyer said: “This would have been a shocking incident to experience or witness, so we’d like to speak to anyone who saw it happen or a white van driving off at speed.
“Your description, CCTV or dashcam could be vital in piecing together the circumstances and finding those responsible for targeting and threatening someone going about their business in the community.
“We will act on all information so come forward, and we’ll do the rest.”
