Detectives have charged a man in connection to a report of shots fired in Huyton last Monday, 16 August.
At around 9.45pm, armed officers were called to Hillside Road to reports of shots being fired near to Longview shops.
As part of continued enquiries, a suspected imitation firearm was seized from an address in the area last week, and two people arrested. 21-year-old Jamie McClune from Cassino Road has now been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent and remanded in custody to next appear on Friday 17 September.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Smith, who leads our Firearms Investigation Team, said: "This investigation continues, and if you have any information about what happened, or the storage, possession or use of any firearms in Merseyside, contact us now and we will continue this swift and positive action."
