We have charged a man following the recovery of a firearm and ammunition in Toxteth in May.
At around 10.10am on Sunday 2 May, officers executed a warrant at an address on Princes Road.
A handgun and ammunition were recovered from the garden of the property. The firearm was made safe by officers and forensically recovered.
Following enquiries, a man was arrested yesterday (Tuesday 24 August) and taken into custody for questioning.
19-year-old Shakur Watson of Princes Road, Toxteth has now been charged with possession of a Section 5 firearm and Section 1 ammunition. Watson has been kept in custody to appear at court tomorrow, Thursday 26 August.
A 53-year-old man from Liverpool, arrested in May on suspicion of possession of a section 1 firearm, remains under investigation.
