Detectives have charged two men following an incident in Kirkby on Saturday afternoon, 21 August.
At around 1.40pm, emergency services were called to outside B&M on Norwich Way following reports of two men fighting. Both were found with injuries. Two knives were found nearby by and recovered.
Following assessment of their non-life-threatening injuries, both men were arrested.
43-year-old Gary Lay of Overton Close, Westvale, Kirkby and 66-year-old Stephen Hughes of Norbury Road, Westvale, Kirkby have both been charged with possession of a bladed article and assault, and kept in custody to appear at court today, Monday 23 August.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Vaughan said: “Our enquiries continue into this incident, so if you witnessed it or have any information, please come forward and we’ll continue to take swift and positive action against all those we suspect are bringing harm into our communities.”
