We are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the fatal shooting of Patrick Boyle on the evening of 1st July.
Officers were contacted at just after 5.55pm following reports the 26 year-old Liverpool man had been shot twice in the chest in the street in Newway, Huyton.
He was taken to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
The investigation into his death is progressing well and a number of lines of enquiry are being pursued.
Detectives believe the that the gunman was riding a black Sur Ron electric bike and that following the shooting, the bike was ridden off along Lordens Road before crossing Princess Drive towards the general area of Woolfall Heath.
An image of what is believed to be the gunman on the bike has today, Tuesday 27th July, been released.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Hurst said: “The enquiry is progressing well. We are continuing our detailed CCTV research and there continues to be a number of other active lines of enquiry that we are pursuing.
"We have a dedicated team of experienced detectives working tirelessly to identify all persons who may have had involvement in the murder, the planning of the attack and any persons who may have offered assistance or support to those involved.
“I would appeal to people to come forward to tell us - who was riding the bike and where did the bike go afterwards?
“Any bit of information, mobile, dashcam or doorbell footage could be vital in helping us find the person responsible and bring them to justice.
“The family has seen at first hand the devastation that guns bring. We need your help to get that gunman off our streets and behind bars where they belong.”
