Officers are appealing for more information after a burglary in Rock Ferry.
At around 5.45pm on Saturday 4 December officers were called to a report of a burglary at an address on Rock Lane West.
Two masked men armed with a knife and a firearm forced entry into a house whilst a woman was inside and stole a quantity of cash before fleeing the address.
No one was injured but the woman was left seriously distressed and fearing for her safety.
CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing to find those responsible and anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
Detective Inspector Mike Fletcher said: “This was a frightening ordeal that no one should ever have go through in their own home.
“As part of this investigation I would like to hear from anyone who was on Rock Lane at around 5.45pm on Saturday evening and saw the incident or the men involved.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed or heard any suspicious behaviour or has CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident. Any information you have could be vital to our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC on Twitter or Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook using reference 21000841249 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
