We have charged three people on suspicion of firearms offences as part of a five-month investigation into the supply of firearms and ammunition.
During the investigation, a Colt revolver, ammunition and a significant quantity of cash were recovered from addresses in Liverpool and Southport.
On Wednesday 22 December, four people were arrested and three were later charged.
David Keenan, 42 years, of Turner Street, Stackheads, Bacup has been charged with conspiracy to possess prohibited weapons.
All three have been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today (Thursday 23 December).
A 57-year-old man from Allerton was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to possess prohibited weapons and has been released under investigation.
