A Wirral man has been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis using the dark web.
Thomas Jefferson Hawkes, 29 years, of Valerian Road, Claughton was charged with conspiracy to supply class A and Class B drug.
Hawkes was remanded into custody after appearing at Wirral Magistrates Court on 8 December. The case has now been referred to Liverpool Crown Court for trial on 5 January 2022.
The charge forms part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile devices, commonly referred to as Encrochat.
