Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Huyton yesterday (Sunday 19 December) have arrested a 20-year-old woman from Liverpool on suspicion of assisting an offender.
She is currently in custody where she is being questioned by detectives.
Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident, which took place yesterday at around 6.30am when emergency services were called to Princess Drive after reports a man had received a stab wound to his chest.
North West Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
The man has not yet been formally identified and a post mortem is due to take place to establish a cause of death.
Detective Inspector Steven O’Neill said: “Although we have made an arrest our enquiries are still ongoing.
“If you live in the area and saw the incident take place or saw any suspicious behaviour that morning at around 6.30am please contact police as soon as possible. Any information, no matter how small, may prove vital to our investigation.”
