Detectives are continuing to appeal for information following a serious assault on a 27-year-old man in Old Swan on Sunday 27 December 2020.
At around 4pm, officers were called by paramedics treating a man who had suffered a serious head injury after being assaulted whilst on a push bike on the junction of Prescot Road and Green Lane.
The victim is still in hospital following the assault where his condition remains critical.
A 30-year-old man from Crosby, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on bail.
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Jennie Beck, said: “This was a nasty assault where the victim remains in a critical condition and we are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice.
“We remain very keen to speak to anyone with any information that could assist our enquiries. Prescot Road was exceptionally busy at the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who was in the area on Sunday 27 December or who has any phone or dashcam footage or information, which could help us with our inquiries to get in touch.
“A lot of buses also use this route, so I would appeal to any bus passengers who may have seen the incident to come forward, as any information they have could be vital to our inquiries."
