Detectives investigating a stabbing in Liverpool City Centre have charged a man in connection with the incident.
At around 5.30pm on Wednesday 16 December 2020, a 31-year-old man arrived at the Royal Liverpool Hospital with a suspected stab wound to his head.
Enquiries suggest that the man sustained the injury during an assault at Hatton Garden, near to the Richmond Hotel.
The man was treated in hospital for serious injuries and has since been discharged and is recovering.
Following extensive enquiries, a man attended a police station yesterday (Thursday 7 January) and was arrested and taken in for questioning.
25-year-old Jake Higgins of Thackeray Gardens, Bootle has been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Higgins will appear at Wirral Magistrates Court this morning, Friday 8 January.
