Detectives are issuing images of two men who may have information following the assault of a doorman at a Liverpool City Centre bar in May.
At around 2.45am on Tuesday 25 May, a doorman at Baa Bar on Fleet Street denied entry to two men, as the bar was due to close for night.
One of the men punched the victim in the face, causing a broken eye socket, fractured cheek bone and nerve damage.
Enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Sam Jennings said: "This was a vicious assault on the doorman who was simply doing his job. Nobody should be subjected to this level of violence when they are just trying to earn a living and the victim has required surgery and ongoing treatment.
“I’d appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any part of this incident or know who was responsible to contact police.
“Likewise, if you recognise the men pictured, please get in touch as we believe they may have information that could prove to be a vital part of our enquires."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police social media desk via Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook Merseyside Police CC quoting incident reference 21000346243.
