We arrested five males for drug offences and recovered suspected Class A and B drugs following warrants executed in Birkenhead, yesterday (Wednesday 9 June).

At around 10.15am officers executed a warrant at an address on Newling Street.

A search of the property found wraps of white and brown power (suspected cocaine and heroin), drug related paraphernalia and a quantity of cash.

A 46-year-old man from Birkenhead and a 41-year-old man from Liscard were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

A further warrant was executed at a separate address on Newling Street. Three males present at the property were searched and a quantity of suspected cannabis and cash were found.

A 30-year-old man from Birkenhead and a 31-year-old man from Prenton were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

The 30-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of money laundering.  The 31-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property and obstructing a police constable.

A 15-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

All those arrested have now been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Inspector Tom Welch said: “Yesterday’s arrests show that where the community has concerns about suspected drug dealing, we will take action and bring those involved to justice.

“We have also made sure that a quantity of harmful drugs are taken off our streets and out of our communities.

“Information from the public plays a vital part in targeting individuals involved in the supply of drugs, and I would like to continue to urge our communities to come forward to us, or to Crimestoppers completely anonymously, so that we can take action.”

Anyone with information on suspected drug production or criminal activity in their community can contact @MerPolCC, call 101 or come forward anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
