A man has been arrested following an attempted robbery on Hanover Street in Liverpool city centre on Wednesday, 9 June.
At around 1.15pm we received a report that a man had threatened two women in the lift at Q Park, Liverpool One while holding what appeared to be a firearm.
The man was reported to have demanded money and mobile phones from the victims and, when they refused, made off on foot in the direction of Gradwell Street.
No injuries have been reported.
A 50-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of robbery and possession of a firearm without a certificate. He has been taken to a police station to be interviewed.
