We have yesterday (Tuesday 22 June) charged a 32-year-old man with firearms offences following a pursuit on the M62 on Saturday (19 June).
At around 9pm officers from Merseyside Police stopped a motorbike travelling Eastbound between junctions 10 (Croft Interchange) and 11 (Birchwood). Following a search of the rider, a firearm was recovered and the rider was arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
Ashley Duggan, 32, of Stanton Avenue, Salford has now been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a firearm without a certificate, possession of ammunition, receiving stolen goods, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court today (Wednesday 23 June).
